Ognjen Bagatin, the vice president of MBA Croatia

Ognjen Bagatin is the vice president of MBA Croatia. Ognjen is a co-owner of the Bagatin Polyclinic, a private polyclinic for aesthetic surgery, dentistry, dermatology and cosmetology. Ognjen is also a majority owner of the media platform Entrepreneur, initiator of the Entrepreneurial Mindset conference and the European Patient Experience & Innovation Congress (EPIC); platform for gathering world experts in the field of medicine and innovation (in cooperation with Cleveland Clinic). He is a very active member of the Executive Boards and the Council related to the development of health tourism in Croatia (the Council for Medical Tourism at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Board for Health in the HUP). In 2010, he completed the MBA program at Cotrugli Business School.

How did you decide to enroll in MBA Studies?

I decided to enroll in MBA Studies after 4 years of working in the market because I saw that I lacked knowledge on how to better understand business. I just had the feeling that I needed something more, something better, something different and I am very happy that I decided to take that step because it definitely helped me develop myself as well as the family business.

 

What is the most significant thing / idea you brought / received from the MBA Study?

I realized that I can learn something from everyone on the team, that you can take best practices from other industries and apply them to your own and that’s what makes the difference later in the business. I realized that I can do anything I can imagine and that I decide my destiny with my actions, reactions, that I can influence it. The most important thing I brought with me was that through the case studies we worked on the modules I finally understood the business. Everything I invested in myself through education and work finally came into its own and that is why I am more than grateful.

 

Why are you in the MBA Croatia Association?

I have been a member for 10 years. One of the most important reasons is the people and all the MBA members who make up the MBA association and come from 15 different MBA studies. MBA Croatia is the best alumni association for people considering enrolling in MBA studies, who are currently attending MBA studies and for those who have completed MBA studies. With excellent networking, all MBA students are hungry for knowledge, lectures, workshops and personal development, and this is exactly what MBA Croatia brings to the table.

 

Can new members be actively involved in the work of the association, e.g. managing internal projects?

Of course, we certainly invite them to be as active as possible and to get to know the work of the association better through their activities and to connect better with their colleagues. The more active the members, the stronger the association.
